After Effects is my creative playground for experimenting with animation concepts. To optimize efficiency and maintain a strong creative vision, I always begin with a storyboard. This step ensures a clear roadmap before diving into the software.
When designing videos for platforms like Instagram or Facebook, I prioritize creating seamless loops, leveraging the platforms’ auto-looping feature to maximize engagement. My approach balances quick pacing to grab attention with readability of on-screen text. Typically, I aim for video lengths of 10 seconds or less to ensure the content is digestible, capturing attention amidst fast-scrolling behavior.

When designing HTML banner ads, I adhere to the 15-second time limit while strategically looping animations under 7.5 seconds. This approach allows the timeline to play twice, keeping the pace dynamic and ensuring maximum exposure within the allotted time.
I draw inspiration from After Effects animations to maintain consistency but simplify the build for standard HTML ad placements. This ensures compatibility and minimizes the risk of publisher rejections. Even with these constraints, I enjoy crafting visually compelling animations, striking a balance between simplicity and impact.
